This course provides students with the opportunity to deal with clinical situations under supervision.This is a course studying the diagnosis of disease using western medical techniques. Topics include Patient’s Counseling, Communication Skills, Principles of History Taking, SOAP notes, Physical Examination, Laboratory Testing and Imaging Diagnosis.
At the conclusion of this class students will be able to:
– Take a western medical history using the SOAP notes style
– Understand the systematic thinking behind diagnosis using the VINDICATE style
– Perform selected Physical Exams and interpret their results
– Recognize selected Laboratory Tests and their results
Be familiar with selected Imaging Techniques.
